Understanding your rights as a trainee pharmacist is essential for maintaining a healthy and productive work environment. This session will cover the key employment rights every trainee pharmacist should know.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand basic employment rights in the pharmacy setting
- Recognise the importance of contractual agreements, leave entitlements, and dispute resolution
- Learn about workplace safety and discrimination laws.

- Understanding employment contracts and terms
- Working hours, breaks, and overtime
- Rights to training and development
- Anti-discrimination laws in the workplace
- Grievance and disciplinary procedures
- Raising concerns .
By attending this workshop, trainees will feel more confident in understanding their employment rights, recognising potential workplace issues, and knowing how to raise concerns appropriately. They will be better equipped to navigate contracts, working conditions, and workplace policies, empowering wellbeing and safe practice throughout the trainee year.
This session is mapped to GPhC standards and PSNI principles for use as part of your professional development portfolio.
