Career Pathways in Pharmacy

Pharmacy offers an increasingly diverse and evolving range of career pathways. This workshop will support trainee pharmacists to explore these options while developing a structured approach and practical tools to guide early career planning. 

Wed 20th January 2027 (6:30pm - 8:00pm)

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the variety of career opportunities in pharmacy  
  • Learn how to create a personalised career development plan  
  • Gain insights into professional growth opportunities within the field.  

Content/Topics:

  • Career pathways: Community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, academia, industry, and research  
  • Professional development, including portfolio development and postgraduate education  
  • Identify transferable skills for specialist/non-traditional roles  
  • How to network and seek mentors in the field.  

As a result of attending this session, trainees will feel empowered to make informed decisions about their future career direction. This session will equip trainees with practical tools to support earlycareer planning.  

Mapped to GPhC standards and PSNI principles for use as part of your professional development portfolio.
