Boots pharmacists and pre-registration graduates had the opportunity to vote yes for a better future, and an independent voice at work. The postal ballot ran for five weeks from Monday 4 February, with a deadline for completed ballot papers to be received by noon on Monday 11 March 2019.
The PDA Union was formed by pharmacists, for pharmacists. Our focus has always been on protecting and improving professional autonomy, working conditions and employment terms for pharmacists and we know Boots pharmacists want us to be recognised so that we can improve their working experience.
In order to achieve a legal decision that requires the company to recognise the PDA Union, the ballot result must be a majority of “YES” votes, and the number of “YES” votes must be at least 40% of those entitled to vote (approximately 2,800 votes).
