VACCINATIONS: All vaccinations delivered by suitably trained pharmacists have always been covered by indemnity insurance as part of the standard PDA membership apart from Covid-19. For new membership renewals after January 1st, 2026, Covid-19 vaccinations are now also automatically covered.

  • PDA invites all pharmacists to take part in the 2021 Safer Pharmacies Survey

    The PDA has today launched their sixth annual patient safety survey, which invites pharmacists to share their experience of safety in the workplace. This survey is open to employed and locum pharmacists wherever they work.  

  • DHSC consultation on extending free PPE to the health and care sector after 31 March 2022

    The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is consulting on whether it should extend the provision of free personal protective equipment (PPE) to the health and care sector after 31 March 2022. The PDA will be responding to the consultation and are also on the DHSC’s PPE engagement panel.

    The 2021 Safer Pharmacies Survey is due to go live later this week (22 October). This is an annual survey that gives pharmacists the opportunity to voice their concerns on safety in the workplace. Less than safe working conditions risk harm to patients as well as damaging consequences for pharmacists.  

  • Welsh Pharmacy Award winners 2021 revealed

    Last Wednesday (13 October 2021), pharmacists were once again able to come together in person and be publicly recognised for their excellence at the Welsh Pharmacy Awards which took place at The Vale Resort in Glamorgan. The awards were held virtually last year in response to Covid-19 restrictions.  

  • PDA Union is delivering pay increases for pharmacists transferred to NHS trust organisations

    The Covid-19 booster vaccine is necessary to help improve protection after having the first 2 doses of the vaccine. It can help give longer-term protection against developing serious illness from Covid-19.

  • PDA LGBT+ Network writes to GPhC and PhSC on more inclusion of LGBT+ education in the MPharm programme

    The PDA LGBT+ Pharmacists' Network Committee were elected in June earlier this year and quickly reached a consensus: the MPharm degree content needs to be reviewed to improve LGBT+ inclusivity.
