A significant majority of pharmacists who completed a PDA survey early in 2024, just before the introduction of the service, supported the principle of the scheme and felt that it could benefit patient care. Similarly, a significant majority of pharmacists also agreed or strongly agreed that if the Pharmacy First Service was not introduced or resourced properly, it could damage a workforce situation that was already under strain.
Coming up to the 1st anniversary of the Pharmacy First Service, and as the government and NHS indicate their intentions to expand the scope of the service, the PDA invites all community pharmacists to complete its survey. This will give community pharmacists who have been on the frontline of providing the service to patients the opportunity to share their experiences and thoughts for the future. The results will help to inform stakeholders about the service from frontline pharmacists who have delivered Pharmacy First Service to patients over the past year.
The PDA is inviting all pharmacists to complete their survey by 11.59 pm on Sunday 26 January 2025.
