A highly respected senior pharmacist, Mark brings extensive experience across clinical professional practice, leadership, and education. His appointment reflects the PDA’s ongoing commitment to supporting pharmacists throughout their careers, from early practice through to senior leadership roles.

In his new role, Mark will lead the progress and delivery of the PDA’s professional development strategy through key projects, which will ensure that members can work confidently and competently so that they can respond to the rapidly changing pharmacy landscape.

An Honorary Professor of Primary Care Pharmacy at Aston University, Mark is widely recognised for his commitment to professional excellence and workforce development. Throughout his career, including as a Clinical Director at NHS Birmingham and Solihull, Mark has worked closely with pharmacists across all sectors, championing continuous learning, reflective practice, and patient‑centred care.

Speaking about his appointment, Mark DasGupta said, “I am delighted to be joining the PDA at such an important time for the profession. Pharmacists are facing unprecedented pressures, but also exciting opportunities. I look forward to working with members to support their professional development and to help ensure they feel confident, valued, and well prepared for the future.”

Mark Koziol, PDA Chairman, welcomed the appointment, saying, “Mark’s experience and passion for professional development make him an excellent fit for the PDA. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to build meaningful support for our members.”
