Oriel applications are now open for third-year students in England, Scotland and Wales who wish to begin their training in July/August 2022. The application deadline is Wednesday 23 June 2021.

As part of this work, the PDA regularly listen to the concerns of pharmacy students in order to offer them help and support. Hannah Baker is currently working with the PDA as a Student Recruitment Assistant and shares her journey of speaking to first-year students to gain an understanding of their needs.

As future pharmacists, it is important that we develop our communication skills. This includes verbal and non-verbal communication. During our pharmacy degree, we have classes and exams to practise and see where we can improve. Whether working in a hospital, community, GP, or practising in class, how we communicate helps us to properly consult. It also affects the trust that patients and other healthcare providers have in us.

PDA call on employers to support exam candidates once results are announced

The GPhC have confirmed that provisionally registered pharmacists who do not pass their assessment will be removed from the register at 09:00am on Thursday 29th April 2021.

GPhC extend Provisional Registrant arrangements until 2022 and delay this year’s Summer exam dates

The GPhC has announced that they are extending the provisional registrant arrangements until January 2022, and due to an associated delay to the Summer registration exam date, any of the current (20-21) cohort of pre-registration trainees wishing to practice from 1 August will now have to also become provisional registrants until the results are released and they are eligible to join the pharmacist register.
