VACCINATIONS: All vaccinations delivered by suitably trained pharmacists have always been covered by indemnity insurance as part of the standard PDA membership apart from Covid-19. For new membership renewals after January 1st, 2026, Covid-19 vaccinations are now also automatically covered.

PDA Student Reps Induction Programme

This online self-directed programme is designed to give student representatives a better understanding of the PDA and the benefits of PDA membership.

Mon 23rd February - Thu 31st December 2026

This course will give students support to: 

  • encourage pharmacists to join the PDA
  • be confident when talking about the PDA
  • learn more about your role as a PDA Representative.

The course includes written articles, soundbites and videos to go through. Each section ends with a quiz to check your understanding. There is also a learning log document and an action plan for you to complete.

On completion of the course and action plan, you will be eligible to attend further courses in the PDA reps training programme. 

This course also includes regular live drop-in sessions where you can meet other student reps and talk to PDA staff.

Pathway

Prior to this training, you will have a discussion with your PDA student organiser about the role you are interested in and if the role and the training is appropriate.

Following this training you will be invited to undertake a live online workshops for reps including ‘Introduction to being a PDA Rep’, ‘Confidence in meetings’ and ‘Conversations that count’.

We also offer some sector specific workshops for reps that your PDA organiser will advise you of. You will also be invited to the PDA reps 2 day face to face training in Birmingham.

Membership is FREE to pharmacy students, trainee pharmacists and for the first three months of being newly qualified.
