On 20 May, PDA members in Scotland met at the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) headquarters in Glasgow. During the meeting delegates discussed important issues they face in their workplace and learned about strategies they can employ to address them.

It’s Time to Address Discrimination: Standing up for Sitting Down

Today the PDA Ability Network is launching its ‘Standing up for Sitting Down’ campaign against disability discrimination. The network is encouraging members to exercise their rights by calling on employers to make appropriate reasonable adjustments and will also work with members to create a culture where there is zero tolerance for discrimination.

PDA discusses online supply of GLP-1 RA weight loss products on Woman’s Hour

The PDA was invited to provide a spokesperson on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour on 30 May 2024 as part of a short feature on the online prescribing of weight loss drugs. The feature included interviews with a patient, Alima Batchelor, Head of Policy at the PDA, and Professor James Kingsland OBE, the Chair of DiCE.

House of Commons Health and Social Care Committee agree pharmacy students should be included in the NHS Learning Support Fund

The PDA’s Fair Funding campaign was launched November 2023 to ask the government to include pharmacy students in the NHS Learning Support Fund (LSF), a supplementary fund that supports healthcare students in England throughout their pre-registration undergraduate or postgraduate studies.

It is important to state that apparent misinformation saying PDA indemnity cover cannot include Independent Prescribing is false.
