The PDA would like to remind all candidates who sat the June 2024 assessment, and feel that they have grounds to appeal on receipt of their results, to review the GPhC guidance and gather all evidence before taking action.

PDA responds to NHS pay announcement

The PDA welcomes the announcement from Chancellor Rachel Reeves that the recommendations of the NHS Pay Review Body (PRB) will be accepted in full, and pharmacists employed on NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) terms and conditions will receive a pay increase of 5.5%.

Locum Matters: PDA locum members discuss current issues

PDA evaluates the renewed debate on the self-selection from open displays of Pharmacy (P) medicines in community pharmacies

In 2012, the Pharmacists’ Defence Association (PDA) and other organisations successfully rejected proposals allowing Pharmacy (P) medicines to be self-selected from open displays in community pharmacies. This victory was crucial in preserving the integrity of the P medicines category, as it prevented them from being sold alongside general sale list (GSL) medicines and non-medicinal items.
