Professional Standards Authority Consult on their regulator performance review process

The Professional Standards Authority (PSA) is the statutory body that reviews, on an annual basis, the work of all 10 UK healthcare regulators. It has launched a consultation on this performance review process.

PDA agrees a web portal with the NHS in England to help ensure that locums do not miss out on their prioritised Covid-19 vaccination

PDA will ensure that self -employed locums can enjoy the same access to Covid-19 vaccination priority as do their employed colleagues.

PDA supports petition to save the Union Learning Fund

In October there was an announcement from the Westminster government about the closure of the ULF Fund. The government announced that they intend to end their £12 million funding of the Union Learning Fund in England on 31st March 2021.

PDA urges employers to be flexible and support the next generation of pharmacists

The GPhC confirmed last week that the March 2021 assessment is to go ahead as planned. However, following reports from prov-reg members about contractual issues, and the fact that some are not being allowed the leave needed to prepare for the assessment, the PDA is urging employers to be flexible, supportive and to act reasonably.

PDA welcomes supermarkets’ policy to enforce wearing of face masks

PDA members working in supermarket pharmacies are welcoming news that the wearing of face masks will be compulsory for customers who do not have a medical exemption. All four major supermarket chains have announced that they will begin enforcing mask-wearing to help to keep staff and customers safe.
